This is a striking vintage silk scarf featuring a large floral bouquet print in tones of orange, yellow, violet, grey and white against a black background. The silk on this vintage silk scarf is woven with a crane motif throughout, an indication that this is most likely of Asian origin - the crane motif is easiest seen in the close-up photo of the spot defect. I believe that the scarf dates to the 1930s or 40s. This vintage silk scarf has a hand rolled edge and is made of a lighter weight silk. It measures 34 1/2” by 35” and is in very good condition with the exception of the aforementioned spot to the left that might be a discolouration and a few thread pulls at the top edge and at the lower right (see close-up photos). Otherwise, no other wear, tear, soiling, staining or odour.
This vintage silk scarf is really beautiful - the colours really pop against the black, gorgeous!
