WWII Canadian Officer WW2 RCA Uniform Tunic Jacket 1940 w ID

by poppysvintageclothing.com

$ 165.00

  • Product Description

This is an authentic WW2 RCA uniform tunic jacket worn by a Canadian 2nd lieutenant.  It was made by Fashion Craft, which was a Montreal based clothing manufacturer - the label reads “Fashion-Craft Individually Tailored”.  The tailor’s label on the interior pocket reads “2/Lt Donald Gillis 4/10/40”.  If this is the same Donald Gillis as found in the records, by the end of the war he was elevated to the rank of Captain and had won the Military Cross.

The jacket has a four pocket front, shoulder epaulets and cinches at the waist with a belt.  All insignia has been removed, but the RCA buttons are all present except for the top front button - the button can be fairly easily replaced but you would have to collect the various insignia that would have been worn by a Royal Canadian Artillery officer.

Fabric:  Wool in a medium weight

Sizing: This WW2 RCA uniform tunic was custom tailored, and although it should fit a medium size, probably about a US/Cdn size 6,  please rely on the following measurements for fit:

Jacket:

Shoulders: 18” across shoulder seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 25” from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam: 18”

Chest: 43” around

Waist: 39” around

Overall length: 29", measured flat at the back from the neck seam

Condition: Very good - this WW2 RCA uniform tunic is well preserved with only a bit of wear / staining at the interior armpit area (see last close-up photo).

This is a wonderful WW2 RCA uniform tunic jacket worn by, I believe, an eventual winner of the Military Cross!
