This is a wonderful mens plaid sport coat or blazer jacket that was made in 1986.  This plaid sport coat was sold by Vancouver men’s department store Woodward’s - Woodward’s main store was located at Hastings and Abbott and was built in 1902.  The store closed during the early 1990s and was demolished in 2006.  The fabric is made of 100% wool that is woven in a tartan plaid pattern - I don’t know if it is specific to a Scottish clan.  The jacket has elongated medium width notched lapels and closes with two brass buttons.  The shoulders on this plaid sport coat are slightly padded and there are pockets at either side and at the left chest - the side pockets have flaps and I have posed one pocket with the flap showing and one with it tucked in.  There are three brass buttons at either cuff and the back bottom has an 11” centre vent.   The jacket is fully lined in a purple taffeta fabric.  It has a pocket built into the interior right and left sides. 

Label: Woodward’s Mens Fashions.  The tailor’s label on this plaid sport coat is dated April 1986 and the CA identification number of CA 11883 belongs to Columbia Clothiers Corp. of Vancouver.  There are two labels that read H and H Design, the company that designed and marketed the jacket

Sizing: Size 40 is indicated on this plaid sport coat, but please rely on the following measurements for fit as it might be more of a size 38 (compare measurements with a similar jacket that you presently own or to your own body measurements, taking the cut of the garment into account):

Shoulders: 17 1/2” across seam to seam

Sleeves: 25” from the shoulder seam

Sleeve inseam: 17”

Chest:  42” around, taken under the arms

Waist:  38”

Overall length:  30 1/2”, measured flat

Condition:  This plaid sport coat is in very clean condition with no wear, tear or odour and looks to have seen very little use.

This is a fun plaid sport coat - definitely will be noticed!
