This is a vintage faux fur coat made in Canada by Shiff.  The coat features a leaf print in red and green against a black background.  The coat is reversible - you can wear it with the faux fur on the exterior or with the  plain black fabric on the exterior.  It has rounded raglan style sleeves and a shawl collar that can be worn either up or down (see photos).  It does up with two buttons at the waist.  There is a pocket built into either side. 

Age:  most likely 1980s

Label: Shiff Montreal Canada Made in Canada (inside pocket because the coat is reversible).  Shiff had roots dating to 1919 when Salomon Shiff, a recent immigrant, started his clothing business in Montreal.  Shiff closed during the late 1990s

Fabric label:  100% Nylon / 100% Modacrylic with 100% Polyester backing

Sizing: Size 9/10 (medium) is indicated, but please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of fabric into account:

Sleeves:  28” long from the neck seam with the cuff turned, 31” long from the neck seam with the cuff unturned

Sleeve Inseam:  17” with the cuff turned

Bust: 50” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 46” around

Overall length: 37"

Condition:

It is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odor.  The coat looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.  I have not cleaned it, but it appears clean and ready to use.

This is a wonderful 80s period faux fur coat - the pattern pops against the black background and you can reverse the coat if there is precipitation….
