This is a 1980s vintage Gianfranco Ferre sweater made in Italy. Ferre started during the 70s as a jewelry designer, but started designing women’s pret-a-porter in 1978. He introduced a couture label in 1986 and designed for Dior from 1989 until 1996 - he passed away in 2007.
This Gianfranco Ferre sweater is made with a heavyweight extra fine black merino wool. It has raised ribbed swirled incorporated into the knit, quite striking. It is made in a pullover style with a high neckline and short sleeves. It closes with a nylon zipper at the upper back and is unlined.
Label: Gianfranco Ferre Made in Italy

Bust: 38” around
Hemline: 36” around, unstretched
