This is a 1960s black velvet dress made in Canada by the Parkway Dress Co. under their “Francis Gale” brand name. This 1960s black velvet dress is made in a sleeveless style with V shaped neckline, defined waistline and below the knee length skirt that falls in drapes. The waist cinches with a matching belt that has a rhinestone studded brassed metal buckle - the belt closes with snaps. The dress does up the back with a nylon zipper. It is lined in black fabric.
Label: Francis Gale by Parkway Dress Co. Made in Canada. Because the label is not bilingual, the dress would date to the early 70s.
