This is a wonderful 1950s tulle dress / ball gown.   This 1950s tulle dress is made in three parts with a separate top and skirt - the skirt has a separate acetate slip (see second to last photo).  The top and skirt are constructed with tulle over acetate, the top covered in pleated tulle and the skirt made with three overlapping layers of tulle over acetate.  The skirt has velvet flowers and bows affixed around it.  The top is made in a strapless style and its midriff is plain acetate.  This 1950s tulle dress was photographed with a crinoline - the use of a crinoline creates a fuller look although it’s not absolutely necessary.  Both pieces close with a metal zipper at its side.  The bust has stays over the breast area providing form and shape.

Condition:  This 1950s tulle dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear - there are two or three stains on the tulle skirt (see close-up photo) and one tiny hole, most of which are hidden within the folds of the tulle. I haven’t tried to remove any stains nor have I had this cleaned - it would benefit from a professional cleaning although it is usable as is.  The flowers and bows would also benefit from a steaming.
