This is a wonderful 1950s era black Royal Stetson fedora hat made in Canada.  Canadian Stetson made quality that was equivalent to American Stetson, no difference. This Royal Stetson fedora is made in a very nice quality black fur felt.  The crown has a black grosgrain band and bow around its base.  The sweatband is gold stamped “Royal Stetson Made in Canada”.  The lining is also printed with “Royal Stetson” and with the Stetson coat-of-arms.  The keyhole foil label states size 7 3/8 - it measures 23 3/8” around the sweat band and 6 7/8” by 8 1/4” across the opening.  The brim measures 1 7/8” in width and the crown measures 4 7/8” in height.  This Royal Stetson fedora is in very good condition with no wear, tear, staining or odour - there is, however, a moisture stain to the front of the lining, visible in the photo of the liner stamping, and the initials MT are written in felt on the lining underneath the sweatband, so not visible.  This is a very nice quality Royal Stetson fedora, soft and pliable fur felt - older Stetson production is really superior. Sure to be noticed!
