This is a wonderful 1950s day dress, the type that a smart dressed lady would wear to lunch or to shop. This 1950s day dress is sleeveless with shoulder straps, a squared neckline. box pleats at either front side of the bodice and is made in a mid-calf length. It has a pocket at either side and cinches at the waist with a matching belt. The skirt of the dress is gathered under the waist seam, which gives it its flared shape. The dress is unlined and does up the left side with a metal zipper. The neckline is decorated with a square rhinestone brooch. Please note that the dress was a little large on my mannequin.

Fabric: I think that it is a natural rayon or a blended rayon - the fabric is like a fine faille with a slight sheen and has lovely weight and fall
Sizing: No size is indicated on this 1950s day dress, and although it should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit:
Bust: 36”-37” around
Waist: 29”
Hips: 36”-38”, should hang loosely
Overall length: 44", measured flat from the top of the shoulder strap to the hemline
Condition: This 1950s day dress is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, stains or odours. This dress was well stored over the years and presents itself very well.
This is a wonderful example of a 1950s day dress…..very stylish!
