This is a vintage bed jacket dating, I believe, to the 1950s. This bed jacket is made in a soft aqua coloured wool could be perceived as either blue or green depending on lighting and which tone you think predominates. It is knit in an open stitch leaf-like pattern. It has a V shaped neckline, does up with only two ribbon ties at the bust and the body is made in a shorter length. It has loose fitting wrist length sleeves that are scalloped at the end that match the bottom of the body of the piece.
Label: All Pure New Wool Made in England
Sizing: This bed jacket should fit a medium to maybe large size, but please note the following measurements for fit:
Shoulders: 17” from shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeves: 21 1/2” from the shoulder/sleeve seam
Sleeve inseam:
Bust: 40” taken under the armpits
Length: 20 1/2“, measured flat
Condition: This bed jacket is in very good condition, no pulls or skips, very clean with no wear, it looks like it was put away and well stored over the last 70 or so years.
This bed jacket is rather ethereal in its own way - light and airy, pretty colour tone, lovely English knit!
