Story

With a simple crew neck and a button-up back, the Regatta Top brings a summery nautical vibe to our SS17 collection. A lot of my inspiration for the collection came from Raoul Dufy (one of my favorite painters), and for this top I set out to design something that captured the vivacity and ebullience of his many maritime paintings while remaining modern and wearable. My favorite way to wear the Regatta is untucked over a pair of high-waisted pants (our Sawyer Pants make an excellent pairing), but it also looks great half-tucked, fully tucked, and — most unexpectedly — with the shirttails tied in the back.

 

Design Details

  • 75% khadi cotton / 25% tussar silk handloom fabric from India
  • Designed, cut, and sewn in Arkansas, USA
  • Cropped, boxy silhouette
  • Button closure on back
  • Patch pocket on left front
  • Measures 20" long from shoulder
  • Hand wash cold, line dry, warm iron as needed (learn more about garment care here)

       

      Materials

      This top is made of a blend of khadi cotton and tussar silk, crafted in India by skilled artisans on a handloom. The cotton in the fabric makes it breathable and soft, while the silk adds a faint hint hint of luminescence. The fabric is undyed, with the creamy, off-white color coming from the natural hue of the silk. The stripe pattern is part of the weave of the fabric and gives the fabric a truly distinct feeling in your hands. It is slightly sheer when unlined.

      In addition to the fabric, this style uses organic cotton thread, 5 vintage plastic buttons, organic cotton interfacing, and organic cotton labels.

      The Regatta is pretty loose and boxy everywhere but the bust, so use your bust measurement when determining your size. The style runs slightly small, so if your measurements fall in between sizes, I recommend sizing up.

      Mallory is wearing a size 0 and is 5'6" with a 34" bust, 27" waist, and 39" hip.
