Hearty Hog’s Veterans BBQ Camp is a 501 (c)(3) founded in Tennessee in 2020. They teach the “Low and Slow” wood-fired techniques of BBQ as a therapeutic experience to Veterans suffering from Isolation, Trauma and Loss of Self/Purpose/Mission. Although our heroes’ hands will never forget the intimate connection with their service weapon, our goal is to help fill that void, utilizing offset BBQ smokers as a positive substitute.

Many of the Veterans who attended previous BBQ camps come back to serve as instructors and volunteers, and network with other Alumni. The Hearty Hog design features SGT HARDWOOD, a Marine Raider, that enjoys Smokin’ meat and cigars with his “Battle Buddies” when he isn’t Smokin’ the Enemies of Freedom.
