This pendant is a rendition of the original cross, or rather the remaining fragments, of the most spectacular sculpture, produced on the island of Iona in Scotland.  It was originally erected in the 8th Century in front of St Columba's shrine, a saint who was given powers by God of visions and healing. 

The art of the Celt is the only indigenous British art form of world significance, yet until relatively recently it has been largely ignored. Many of our Jewellery designs incorporate endless Celtic Interlacing, with its "overs and unders" representing the "ups and downs" of life; and the unbroken continuity of the endless ribbon symbolises the hope of eternal life. As such, they are considered by many as a talisman of long life and eternal love.

Made in Scotland from old-fashioned Pewter with a plated finish of Palladium (which will not scratch or tarnish).
