This ancient knot is featured within The Book of Kells. It is another variation on the three-corned Celtic knot design which is most often depicted in the Celtic tree of life. The  Celts favoured that everything in this world came in threes: life, death, and rebirth, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and earth, sea, and sky, past, present and future.

The art of the Celt is the only indigenous British art form of world significance, yet until relatively recently it has been largely ignored. Many of our Jewellery designs incorporate endless Celtic Interlacing, with its "overs and unders" representing the "ups and downs" of life; and the unbroken continuity of the endless ribbon symbolises the hope of eternal life. As such, they are considered by many as a talisman of long life and eternal love.
