Stretch Twill Snap-Front Jacket: To me, the 'Little Blue Jacket' is the men's equivalent of the "Little Black Dress" - a simple, chic & critical piece of your wardrobe. I've been calling this one "Little Blue" :)

Inspiration can definitely come from the most unlikely of places.

One day, I was trying to get our basement organized & inspiration hit!

I found some of my husband's old police uniforms and thought there was something here worth exploring. I really liked how strong & 'commanding' these shapes were and started to wonder what a Blade+Blue version could look like.

I wanted to maintain the power of the police jackets but with a cleaner finish and sleeker attitude. Almost like 'Superhero meets Supermodel'.

I have long admired the exquisite tailoring skills & the strong sculptural sense of my good friend Dahae Kim. She and I have collaborated on jackets before and we hope you like the new ideas just as much. Each piece is individually made at Dahae's studio in Oakland, California.

When we began to design this jacket, one thing was clear: there were going to be snaps. There is something about the snaps that makes me think of a superhero doing a 'quick-change' into his superhero clothes. I think of my husband as a hero; his job is not an easy one.

We cut this style with an 8.5oz twill that has a little bit of stretch built in. The light weight and stretch in the fabric allowed us to take a more 'industrial' shape and tailor it in a sharper, more modern way. For example, we kept trimming away some of the excess fabric, shortening the garment's body length to hit right at the hip. A very flattering update.

The hidden zipper front pockets also play off this idea of mixing utility with modernity. Plus they keep everything secure!

By the way, the 3% stretch in the fabric makes this jacket incredibly comfortable.

 Made of 97% cotton with 3% lycra.
