20% of the foam blend, which is proprietary, is made of recycled materials. Now the story here is this proprietary blend is way more eco-friendly than PVC which is typically used (e.g. Havaiana) which is petroleum-based. That, I’m told, is foot Cancer. All rubber used at Freewaters is natural as well. In total that is 80% sustainable when you factor in all the above. Additionally, like us, they use all recycled hangtags/trim, soy ink, etc. For other products, they use a waterless dyeing system and they are committed to helping the world with their ongoing water projects where they help get water to locals in Haiti, the Philippines and Kenya. The big selling point is that these are not PVC.
