This is a 1960s mohair plaid coat made of a blend of long hair mohair and wool. This 1960s mohair plaid coat buttons to a high neckline, has a straight squared collar, raglan style sleeves, turned split cuffs, a flapped faux pocket at either side and a five button front. The coat is lined in blue and black taffeta-like fabric that is backed in cotton.
Colours: Aqua, blue, rust orange, white and black
Label: None.
Sizing: No size is indicated, and although this mohair plaid coat should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit (please take the style of the coat and thickness of the fabric into consideration):
Shoulders: 17” across, estimated due to raglan sleeves
Sleeves: 22 1/2” long from the estimated shoulder, 31” from the mid-neck seam
Sleeve inseam: 15”
Bust: 46” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 46” around
Overall length: 39", measured flat, taken at the back from the neck seam
Condition: This mohair plaid coat is in very good condition with no pronounced wear, tear, staining or odour - there is an area to the right where the lining is unstitched, but this is an easy fix for a sewer. Otherwise this coat looks to have seen little use and was well cared for over the last 60 or so years.
This is an excellent quality mohair plaid coat - wonderful long hair finish!
