    The Girls Batwing Jacket is an easy fitting outer garment featuring a 'Batwing' sleeve design that creates a soft drape around the body.

    The curved front opening & elongated back hem are design to create a soft flattering silhouette. 

    Trim with self or contrast fabric, lace, pom-poms, binding or keep it simple with a turned back or narrow rolled hem edge.

  • SUGGESTED FABRIC: Fabrics with drape such as rayon, chiffon, georgette, crepe. Cotton voile (cropped length only). For Winter try Cotton Flannelette.


    SUGGESTED TRIMS: Lace 15-25mm (5/8-1 1/4"), Binding 18-25mm (3/4-1"), Pom Pom Trim 20mm (3/4"). 


    FABRIC REQUIREMENTS: The following table outlines fabric requirements based on 110cm (44") & 140cm (55") wide fabric.

    Please note: (1) The estimates below do not include directional fabrics. I recommend you cut out the pattern & lay the pieces down on a flat surface to help estimate fabric needs for directional fabric. (2) If you are sewing with rayon, remember to allow for shrinkage & buy a little extra.  (3) Also it’s wise to pre-wash your fabrics, in particular rayon.
